Preterist Websites

Preterist websites are exploding in number. Some are listed below. Many, though not all, are from a full preterist perspective; others are from a partial preterist perspective. We are not endorsing any of these in particular. Indeed, some may be teaching things with which we strongly disagree. There is a lot of room for debate among Christians, but if it is brought to our attention that any of these sites are teaching things that seem particularly egregious and dishonoring to God, we will delete them from the list. But we offer the list here to give the reader an opportunity to see differing views and to do independent research.

  1. This is a great resource for preterists, and for those interested in learning more about fulfilled eschatology. I also have a preterist website, if you’re open to adding it to the list:

    http://www.kloposmasm.com

I’m a full preterist, but you will find a term paper on my site indicating partial-preterist beliefs, and that’s because I was not yet a full preterist when I wrote that paper.

    Thanks, and blessings,

    Adam Maarschalk

Adam, I am interested to know what made you change your mind to become a full blown preterist. I am new to preterism and am only confortable with a full preterist position since I cannot see how one can be a preterist and a futurist at the same time. 🙂

      • Brian, thanks for your question. In a nutshell, I saw that I was clinging to an inconsistent position (in partial-preterism). Though I had come to believe Jesus “came in judgment” in 70 AD, I was trying to believe that He was still going to come in our future, once again in (final) judgment and this time to bring about the resurrection of the dead.

However, as hard as I tried, I couldn’t find in the words of Jesus any promise of a coming that was to be outside of the lifetime of His own generation; nor could I find the promise of any such coming within the epistles. I also saw that Jesus’ coming and the establishment of His kingdom were synonymous, and I was already convinced (as I am today) that He established His kingdom in the first century.

I also couldn’t help but see, by comparing Matthew 24 and Daniel 12, that the resurrection of the dead was to take place at the time of the great tribulation and the shattering of “the holy people.” And I was already convinced that the great tribulation took place before Jesus’ own generation passed away. There is no way, biblically, to separate these events by hundreds of years.

So these are some of the thoughts that caused me to change my mind. I hope my response is helpful.

      • brianhyde says:

Adam, that was most helpful and I thank you for taking the time to answer and doing so comprehensively.

What you say makes total sense. What I like about the preterist approach, is how beautifully everything dovetaisl together. Nowadays when I read scripture, instead of putting myself in the context, I put the first century believers there and what an interesting difference that makes.

I have started sharing my belief on Facebook with members of the group I belong to there but some of the questions I am being asked are too difficult for me to answer, especially ones like the resurrection and the millennium and certain context of the last three chapters of Revelation. On the resurrection, I explain that it must have taken place but it would have been invisible for how can beings existing in the realm of flesh and blood see what is taking place in the realm of the spirit?

If you can share with me any material you have on the resurrection or point me to some useful links, I will be thankful.

Since eschatology and soteriology go hand in hand, does anybody perchance know which of the above preterist sites hold to a universalist/inclusivist view?

    prophecyhistory.com
may be added to your list if you like. It attempts to understand the language of Bible prophecy by comparing the prophecies alongside their fulfillments in history. It is concluded, among other things, that God uses these prophecy-history connections as a method of delivering eternal truths that continue to have application. For example, Bible prophecy was fulfilled around 30 AD when the one and only Christ was crucfied one time in history, but people continue to be saved by it to this day. Basically, God uses prophecy to tell us in advance before He touches us in history, leaving an ongoing application.

  6. Charles Meek says:

John, I will add your site. What is your last name? Email me at faithfacts@msn.com. Thanks

  7. Amy says:

Please I have prayed for understanding. Please listen. I began as a futurist then moved to historist, and then what I would call my own unique for of partial preterist. God has shown me that everything was fulfilled in 70 ad EXCEPT the judgement of the dead and the end of the earth and the new heaven and earth set up. Please let me explain. 2 Peter 2:4. When Christ came in 70 ad he judged the living and they were resurected but the dead or doomed were sent to the abyss or outer darkness where the devil and his angels are but they are waiting judgement which will come after the 1000 years reign of the church age which began in 70 ad. After this time then the dead will ” live” or revive. Do a Strong’s word study on all the words live in Revelation 20. After they are revived then they are judged and thrown into the eternal lake of fire! Also do a word study on the word pit. It is the same abyss that the dead and fallen angels are in 2 Peter 2:4. So the dead and demonds and devil are all in the abyss together and waiting the final judgement of the dead and they will be thrown in the lake of fire. Also Satan will be loosed at the end if the church age and then Christ will judge the dead and set up the new heaven and earth. The promise in genises 8 about not destroying every living thing was as long as the earth remained. But the earth is not eternal.

    • Charles Meek says:

Hello, Amy. Your position is not uncommon. We think, however, that it is mistaken. I cover resurrection in detail in Chapter 11 of my book. But let me just highlight a few things: (a) The General Resurrection is mentioned in the Old Testament as being in conjunction with the destruction of Israel–Daniel 12. (b) The General Resurrection is similarly mentioned in the New Testament as imminent For example, Acts 24:15 says that “There is ABOUT TO BE a resurrection of the dead” (Young’s Literal Translation). (c) The Great Judgment was imminent also–see Acts 17:31 and 2 Timothy 4:1 in Young’s Literal Translation, and 1 Peter 4:5, 7, 17. (d) The events of Revelation were imminent with over 30 statements that tie its fulfillment in AD 70–see my articles on Revelation. (e) The New Heaven and New earth is covenantal and was instituted in the first century–see my two articles on this. (f) The resurrection was to be at the Parousia (example: 1 Corinthians 15:23), and the Parousia is consistently placed at AD 70–See my articles about the Olivet Discourse. There is lots more for us to be able to say that the General Resurrection was in AD 70.

  8. Charles Meek says:

Elaine, full preterists believe that the Great White Throne Judgment happened in AD 70. And we believe that the kingdom in not literal. I address all of this in detail in my book CHRISTIAN HOPE THROUGH FULFILLED PROPHECY.

    • elaine says:

so is G-D Jesus trying to save everyone now too?..
if the new testament scriptures were warnings on how to live for those people only…what is left for us..how do we live if it’s all done and finished?

  9. Charles Meek says:

Elaine, “it” is not all done and finished. We are still here, living the new covenant life, evangelizing, and proclaiming salvation through Jesus!

  10. Charles Meek says:

Elaine, see our article “Sin, Law, and Judgment” in the New Covenant. It is article # C9 here:

    https://prophecyquestions.com/2014/02/01/articles-by-charles-meek/

    • elaine says:

thanks for that…but i can not keep the 10 commandments perfectly in my heart, head, or soul..
it’s an impossible task and was given to us to prove we are sinful..yes I accept Christ was perfect and died in my place…all I can do is be thankful to him, try my best to learn from my faults but I will never be free of sin…If you know of any person since Christ that has been sinless…please tell me
      who they are.
